Skills that stay in Nigeria
Local production gives Nigerians hands-on experience in manufacturing, assembly, testing and technical service. Our engineers trained with international partners and now pass that training on to our local teams.
Our manufacturing goes beyond meter assembly. At Kayz Industrial Park, we make plastic meter boxes, meter housings and structural components on our own injection-moulding equipment. We are expanding the park’s production facilities and getting ready to add surface-mount technology (SMT) lines.
We plan to manufacture medium- and low-voltage switchgear, distribution panels and transformers in Nigeria. We will add these products in stages, depending on market demand, technical partnerships and how ready our production is.
KAYZ engineers have trained in China and Singapore in metering, software, and information and communications technology. They use that training in our work in Nigeria.
The Federal Government’s Nigeria First policy gives priority to locally produced goods in federal procurement. It also supports local capacity building and skills development.
KAYZ supports the policy by investing in manufacturing in Nigeria. We aim to do more of our work here each year, including meter assembly, component production, technical training and project delivery.

When we make meter boxes, housings and components in Nigeria, more of the manufacturing work stays in the country. As we produce more locally, we will rely less on imported finished products and build a stronger local supply base.
Our factory and project teams are based in Nigeria, close to the distribution companies we work with. Lessons from installation and customer support go straight back into our manufacturing and service work.
